Ethical Craftsmanship & Fair Work
At Club Contraire, we partner with places where people are treated with kindness, where skill is nurtured, and where craftsmanship is respected as the art form it is.
We keep our relationships close. We speak regularly, review samples together, and adjust patterns and construction as we learn what works best. This back and forth has created an easy rhythm between us and over time we’ve built relationships rooted in mutual respect, shared passion, and a common love for craftsmanship. There is a shared understanding that creating something takes time, and that pace aligns with our brand.
Production happens in organised, steady stages. Each piece moves through a small group of makers rather than large production lines, allowing for better control, consistency, and relationships.
We consider our makers an extension of our team. Their skill, experience, and reliability are central to the quality of every collection.
Modern Slavery
As a small brand, we work with only a few trusted workshops, which allows us to stay closely connected to the people making our pieces and the environments in which they work. We speak directly with our partners, understand how their teams operate, and ensure the workplaces are safe, stable, and respectful.
We recognise that modern slavery risks can exist at different points in global supply chains. To help reduce these risks, we work only with partners who are transparent about their practices.
We maintain open, ongoing communication.
Our goal is straightforward, to ensure that the people involved in creating Club Contraire pieces are treated with dignity and work in environments that reflect the values of our brand. As we grow, we remain committed to strengthening transparency and responsible sourcing across all areas of our supply chain.
